These 25 campgrounds list designated equestrian sites, or horse campsites, in official records: 10 in Virginia, 10 in North Carolina, 2 in Tennessee, 2 in Maryland and 1 in Pennsylvania. The 16 federal campgrounds have 126 equestrian sites between them on Recreation.gov. The largest are Canebrake Horse Camp (28), Fox Creek Horse Camp (21) and Harmon Den Campground (13). Canebrake Horse Camp is the only dedicated horse camp here that also lists electric sites. 6 Virginia State Parks campgrounds list horse campsites, and Virginia DCR lists stall fees separately from the campsite rate.
