When Do Campsite Reservations Open? 2027 Booking Windows
Popular campsites go fast on the day they open. Enter your arrival date to see the day (and, where it's published, the time) each system opens bookings, your cancellation deadlines, and a calendar reminder you can download. For example, on Recreation.gov, Memorial Day weekend 2027 (arrive Fri, May 28) opens Sat, Nov 28, 2026 at 10 a.m. ET at most campgrounds.
Rules verified on October 26, 2026 (each quoted from the official reservation page). Dates calculated October 26, 2026; your browser marks dates that have already opened. Where an agency doesn't publish something, we say "Not listed". Rules change; always confirm on the official site before you book.

How we calculate dates
- Months are counted back on the calendar, to the same day of the month. If that day doesn't exist (for example, 6 months before Aug 31 is "Feb 31"), we use the last day of the month (Feb 28, or Feb 29 in a leap year). Agencies don't publish how they handle this, so check the official site near month-end.
- Maryland counts 365 days, and the date moves to the next day its call center is open (no new dates on off-season weekends, Nov 1–Mar 31, or on its listed holidays). We use each holiday's actual date.
- Tennessee counts one year back. For a Feb 29 arrival, we use Feb 28.
- Virginia and Georgia don't say whether the window is counted from the arrival date. The calculator assumes it is.
- Times are U.S. Eastern (daylight saving time is handled for you). Where no release time is published, the reminder is an all-day event.
- Recreation.gov lets each campground set its own window and time. We show the default 6 months at 10 a.m. ET. Check the campground's Seasons and Fees tab.
Campgrounds with their own schedule
These Recreation.gov campgrounds don't use the 6-month default. Each rule comes from the National Park Service or the campground's own Recreation.gov record.
